Raising Ruth is a story based on a young girl's upbringing on her parents' Pennsylvania family farm. The book gives insights into the lifestyle of farmers in the early 20th Century. Ruth, who at a young age was a hard-working farm girl, decided to change her future.
Raising Ruth is set in a rural farming community with fields, crops, and animals. Ruth's story recalls her life, encounters with nature, and experiences on the farm and with her family. In the story, as Ruth grew older, she came to realize she could do more with her life and so attended the teacher's college nearby. In this fictional children's story, readers aged 4-8 will discover what it was like to live on a small farm in the early 1920's. The story helps teach children the importance of perseverance and hard work. It is a great addition to any child's bookshelf.

Deborah
Niemoczynski
discovered the joy of writing when she was in elementary school. Since then, she
has pursued a degree in Journalism and has written for newspapers, local
magazines, and held positions at a bank and manufacturing company as their
communications specialist. In 1984, she started a freelance writing business.
Writing has always been an integral part of her life. Most recently, she
completed a memoir for her mother and is working on stories about her childhood
for her four sons and grandson. She lives with her husband in Saylorsburg,
Pennsylvania. |

Elva Hurst grew up on a farm in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where she attended a one room Amish school. After 8th grade she helped out on the family farm. In her free time, she began to teach herself how to paint. It eventually became an art career. She has written and illustrated several books. Elva lives on a farm near Lititz, Pennsylvania with her husband and their four children. There she owns and operates The Barnyard Art Studio and Gallery. |
